Four Seasons

Sat, Jan 9 · 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM · D.F. Cook Recital Hall · St. John’s, NL

Featuring Andrew Wan, violin & leader On the Program I Spring – 17 Minutes Irish Poem I II Summer – 16 Minutes Irish Poem II III Autumn – 15 Minutes Irish Poem III IV Winter – 14 Minutes Irish Poem IV This program moves through the four seasons by placing Antonio Vivaldi’s well known violin concertos alongside Max Richter’s modern reimagining. Hearing them side by side highlights how the same seasonal ideas can feel vivid, dramatic, or quietly reflective depending on the musical language. Interwoven throughout are selections from The Irish Seasons by Ailbhe McDonagh, offering another perspective on spring, summer, autumn, and winter. These pieces add a contemporary voice rooted in Irish musical character, creating contrast while keeping the seasonal thread clear. Venue D.F.
