Historic Celebratory Pin Pillow Workshop

This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the quiet language of the pin pillow, an object both modest and deeply expressive. Through a close look at historical and contemporary examples, we will consider how materials, construction, and embellishment communicate personal and cultural meaning.Working with a curated selection of textiles including cotton, linens, and reclaimed fabrics, along with wood chip filling, participants will construct their own pin pillows through a simple and accessible process of pin sticking that does not require sewing. Each piece becomes a small, personal narrative shaped by material choices and the gestures of making.This workshop encourages a slowed down practice that values attention, material exploration, and the stories embedded in everyday objects. 10% discount for Rooms members.
