Come celebrate our local poetic talent—and read some of your own work on the Theatre Hill stage—with a night of poetry and prose hosted by the fantastic Nicole Haldoupis and Katherine Abbass. Nicole Haldoupis is a writer from Toronto who lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Her first book, Tiny Ruins, was shortlisted for four Saskatchewan Book Awards and the Bressani Literary Prize. She’s currently a creative writing instructor at the College of the North Atlantic, an English PhD student at Memorial University, managing editor at Paragon, and publishing coordinator for At Bay Press. She plays guitar in a girl band called H.A.G.S, who will be releasing their first album in June 2026. Katherine Abbass (she/her) is a queer writer of Lebanese descent. Her work has appeared in magazines such as Room, The Malahat Review, THIS, and Canthius. She has been nominated for two Alberta Literary Awards, an Alberta Magazine Award, and in 2021, she won the Riddle Fence Fiction Contest. She is pursuing her MA at Memorial University.
