He is a registered NL fishing and hunting guide, boat captain, and a professional seal hunter. Leo learned fishing from his father, Ned Hearn who fished all his life in the Protected Fishing Area of Petty Harbour. Ned taught Leo how to knit cod trap nets, find the fishing berths, and where the fish hide when the tide is running in or out. Ned always said to "leave a fish for tomorrow," and it is this spirit of conservation and concern that has compelled Leo to teach youth the traditional, sustainable handline fishing methods that his father taught him. Leo was recognized for his volunteer work in 2018 by Minister Seamus O’Regan with a Canada 150 Local Hero Award.August 25- Deanne Dawe- Braided Rugs , full_html
