talking / weathering with Hannah Ferguson

This interactive workshop invites participants to connect with Artist in Residence Hannah Ferguson for an afternoon of creative exploration. Learn to make your own chalk using natural materials like seashells, drawing inspiration from the local environment.

Participants will also engage in experimental writing using texts related to weather and maritime signaling. The session encourages reflection on how we talk about the weather, the messages it conveys, and the language we use to describe it. Weather permitting, the workshop will culminate in a collaborative, ephemeral pavement text created with the handmade chalk.
