The Intro to Checking & Checking Development Clinic is an educational-based program designed to introduce players to body contact and further develop their understanding of checking within the game. This clinic focuses on teaching players how and when to use body contact effectively and safely, emphasizing proper technique, awareness, and decision-making. Players will learn how to protect themselves and the puck, as well as how to separate an opponent from possession in a controlled and responsible manner. Checking is a critical skill that, when taught correctly, can enhance both player confidence and overall game performance. This program provides players with the foundation and knowledge needed to apply body contact safely while reducing the risk of injury.
