Ignite their potential this summer! Register your child(ren) for Summer Day Camp at Centre scolaire et communautaire des Grands-Vents. YMCA Day Camps are designed to spark imagination and build confidence, independence, and communication skills. Children will get to participate in swimming, physical activity, games, hands-on learning, skill development, craft activities and more. All activities are conducted in both English and French. Summer Day Camp is Monday to Friday from 8-5pm, unless a holiday is scheduled. For more information on YMCA day camps, be sure to click on the links at the bottom of page. Everyday Camp Checklist * Please ensure all items are clearly labeled with your child’s name * Healthy snacks such as fruits, vegetables, cereal or hummus * One healthy lunch * We are allergen friendly. Products made from nut/peanuts are not permitted * Extra clothing, such as pants, sweater, shirt, shorts, socks * Outdoor clothing. Payment is required at time of registrationThere will be no Camp at the Centre scolaire et communautaire des Grands-Vents on:Canada Day (July 1), Regatta Day, and National Acadian Day (August 17)Summer Day Camp is Mon to Fri from 8AM-5PM, unless a holiday is scheduled. Drop-off is from 8AM-9AM and pick-up is 4PM-5PM.Camp Welcome EmailYou will receive a welcome email for each camp with important reminders the Friday before your camp start date.Campers Requiring Additional SupportAt the YMCA, we want to best support your child and create an environment where your child can be successful. Should your child require one on one and/or additional assistance within our program please contact the program manager prior to registration.Day Camp Refund PolicyIf you cancel your camp spot at a minimum 14 days before camp begins, the YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador will refund the full fee for that week less a $25.00 non-refundable administration fee (per child, per week). Any cancellation requests that are less than 14 days, will have payment forfeited. In case of illness where a doctor's note is provided, an exception can be made.No refunds for missed days. [email protected] Recreational SwimsFor the safety of all campers, a swim test must be completed daily to determine if mandatory life jacket use is required. This test will determine if they are a swimmer or non-swimmer and if they would be able to adhere to aquatics supervision guidelines. This test will include without a lifejacket, do a feet first jump into the deep end and swim without stopping/holding onto rope or side of the pool to the shallow end.
